I love this look; the mix of textures, patterns and proportions in Olivier’s show was an absolute dream – such a fresh take on safari dressing.
Olivier Rousteing joined the label in 2009, after attending a prestigious French fashion school and working under Roberto Cavalli. Rousteing is a relatively unknown designer, and has brought a much-needed fresh take on the brand’s aesthetic that remains to this day. He wants to add more Asian influence to the clothing, as Asia comprises a huge part of the brand’s buyers. He is still creative director to this day.
His 2010 collection, shown during Paris fashion week, was said to be “totally retro” and “[brought] back the glitz and glitter of the 1970s disco era.” As of 2012, 50% of total income is from license royalties.
